“F— this stupid thing,” Jacob Chansley, a longtime MAGA supporter better known as the QAnon Shaman, wrote in a series of attacks on the president

The “QAnon Shaman” has turned against President Donald Trump.
Jacob Chansley’s Viking-inspired riot costume became one of the defining images of the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021. Like many who stormed the Capitol in a last-ditch effort to prevent Joe Biden from becoming president, Chansley faced legal consequences for obstructing a federal proceeding—and like others in his situation, he was later pardoned shortly after Trump returned to the White House on January 20.
However, a few months after his pardon, Chansley suddenly went from being one of Trump’s most prominent fans to an outspoken critic of the president. On Wednesday, July 23, he shared a series of profanity-filled social media posts condemning the president, primarily for his ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

“Fuck this motherfucker,” Chansley wrote in one post, responding to a photo of Trump’s face in 2023, according to The Independent. “What a scam…”
“Oh yeah & F— Israel! And F— Donald Trump!” Chansley wrote in a separate post on X, without any further context. In another post, he said, “What do you think Epstein and Israel have to do with Trump?”
Chansley, who was repeatedly photographed during the Capitol riot confronting security forces and taking selfies inside the building, was sentenced to 41 months in prison in November 2021 after pleading guilty to obstructing an official trial. He was also ordered to pay $2,000 in restitution.
At the time, Chansley expressed remorse for his role in the riot: “I have no excuse. There is no excuse,” he said in court, according to The Associated Press. “My actions are inexcusable.”

However, after receiving news of Trump’s pardon, Chansley celebrated: “THANK YOU PRESIDENT TRUMP!!! J6ers will be freed & JUSTICE IS HERE… ALL WORKS DONE IN THE DARK WILL BE BROUGHT TO THE LIGHT!” he wrote on social media, according to Law & Crime.
Chansley — who regularly promotes conspiracy theories on his platform — is one of several MAGA hardliners who have recently taken issue with Trump amid scrutiny of the administration’s handling of evidence related to Epstein.
As the Justice Department comes under increasing pressure to deliver on Trump’s campaign promise of greater transparency in the Epstein case, a group of former Trump loyalists — including Georgia Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Tucker Carlson and Ben Shapiro — have criticized Trump’s handling of the matter.
