Atlanta, GA — What started as a terrifying home invasion turned into a shocking arrest that has social media ablaze.
Rapper GloRilla, the rising Memphis-born hip-hop star known for her unapologetic lyrics and bold persona, found herself on the wrong side of the law after calling the police to report a break-in at her Georgia residence late Wednesday night.

According to official reports, officers arrived at GloRilla’s suburban Atlanta home around 11:45 p.m. in response to a 911 call she made, claiming someone had broken into her backyard and possibly attempted to enter the home. But what happened next took everyone — including the rapper — by surprise.
After securing the perimeter, officers say they “detected the strong odor of marijuana” inside the home. A brief search allegedly uncovered small quantities of cannabis and MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy). GloRilla was immediately taken into custody on charges of misdemeanor drug possession.

A close source to GloRilla’s team told local reporters that she was completely blindsided by the arrest.

The rapper has since been released on bond, but her court date is scheduled for early August. Her legal team is reportedly preparing to fight the charges and explore whether the search was lawful in the first place.
