July 2, 2025 – Clearwater, Florida – Hollywood and fans around the world are mourning the loss of Julian McMahon, the Australian actor best known for his memorable roles in Nip/Tuck, Charmed, FBI: Most Wanted, and as the villain Doctor Doom in the early 2000s Fantastic Four films. McMahon passed away peacefully on July 2 at his home in Clearwater, Florida, following a private battle with cancer. He was 56.

The McMahon family confirmed his passing in a statement, sharing that Julian had faced his illness with courage and grace, choosing to keep the details of his health out of the public eye during treatment.
Born in 1968 in Sydney, Australia, Julian Dana William McMahon was the son of former Australian Prime Minister Sir William McMahon. Initially pursuing studies in law and economics, Julian transitioned into modeling before launching a successful acting career. He first gained international attention as Cole Turner on the hit supernatural series Charmed, then rose to stardom portraying Dr. Christian Troy, a charming and complex plastic surgeon, in the groundbreaking FX drama Nip/Tuck.
McMahon left an indelible mark on film audiences as Victor Von Doom — the iconic villain Doctor Doom — in two Fantastic Four films produced by 20th Century Fox. In recent years, he starred as Supervisory Special Agent Jess LaCroix in the CBS procedural FBI: Most Wanted, solidifying his appeal across both TV and film throughout multiple decades.
Julian was known not just for his charisma and on-screen magnetism, but also for his professionalism, generosity, and the quiet strength he brought to his work.
“Julian was a true artist — a sophisticated, soulful presence on screen, a dedicated colleague, and a deeply compassionate human being. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled,” said a close friend and industry colleague.
The McMahon family has requested privacy during this difficult time. A private memorial service will be held in both the United States and his home country of Australia.
